Hi, my name is Emily. I have a twin brother whose name is James. James and I get along really well. We hardly ever fight. We’re like any other kids; we like different things but we’re really supportive of each other. James is oldest, he was born two and half minutes before me. Our great grandfather is a twin and we are named after him and his sister.
I’m a total bookworm. I could sit wrapped up on the couch for days with my nose in a book and not eat or sleep. I love going into the world of a book, and I like all kinds of stories. I always have a book with me. Sometimes it’s a romance novel, sometimes a history documentary, but rarely do I get into sci fi. That’s just stupid. I don’t know how anybody reads science fiction.
Research intrigues me. I love to do it. When most people find it boring, I love digging into things to find facts. I guess you could say I’m a fact finder. I love research, and it doesn’t take much to get me going to learn the truth about something.
My best quality is that I seek the best in everyone I meet. I prefer to believe that the good in people will suppress and overcome the bad. And that drives me to celebrate every good deed, every achievement of everyone in my life. I celebrate birthdays, good grades, wins of any kind no matter how trivial it may seem. Like when Peter comes in second or third in track, we still celebrate because it is still a significant accomplishment. Someone suggested to me once that I do that because I don’t feel like I’m good enough? My brother gets most of the attention. He’s a really high achiever, and so I kinda live in his shadow. So there might be some truth in that, I don’t know.
I’m a people pleaser especially my parents. They are really good to us and even though we don’t have everything, we live a really good life, so I don’t want to hurt my parents in anyway. I always try and do what they say we should do.
I’m a little bit of a dork. I twirl the baton and march with the band something that’s not very cool, but I enjoy doing it. It’s my exercise I guess. Eating healthy is important, so I read a lot about what you should put into your body and what you shouldn’t. But every now and then I go crazy and gorge myself on junk food. I LOVE potato chips. So if you see me do that instead of my usual yogurt and granola snack, please don’t judge me.
